What began as a passion project has evolved into something simply revolutionary.
A call to return to curiosity, connection, humility and the practice of creating belonging together.
A Lifelong Inquiry
What began as a passion project in 2005 became a lifelong exploration of a simple question:
What helps people and communities flourish?
When I founded Sol Yoga, I believed I was creating a place where people could practice yoga and experience greater wellbeing. Over time, I discovered that what brought people back was not only the practice itself, but the relationships they formed, the feeling of being known, and the opportunity to contribute to something larger than themselves.
What began as a yoga community became an inquiry into belonging.
Every organization, initiative, and community I have helped build since then has been another way of exploring the conditions that help people connect, heal, grow, and thrive
The First Practice Ground: Human Relationship
Long before I led organizations or facilitated communities, I learned about belonging through the most fundamental human system: relationships.
Motherhood, partnership, family life, seasons of transition, homeschooling, and years of personal growth all became places of practice. They taught me that flourishing isn’t created by ideas alone. It grows through consistent care, honest communication, healthy boundaries, shared responsibility, and environments where people feel seen, supported, and able to grow.
These experiences shaped not only how I live but also how I lead. They continue to influence every community, program, and partnership I support.
The Conditions That Matter
Community & Belonging
We flourish when we know we have a place and experience the strength, support and shared purpose of community.
Practice & Inquiry
Growth is cultivated through daily practice, curiosity, self-study and a lifelong commitment to learning.
Healing & Recovery
Healing happens in relationship not isolation. We transform by tending to what is wounded, reconnecting with ourselves and others and discoverign new possibilities for growth.
Service & Stewardship
We care for people, places and communities in ways that nurture flourishing for generations to come.
What emerges?
When these conditions are cultivated together, embodied leadership emerges - it’s less about dominance and authority and more about presence, integrity and service.
Rarely in linear order,
We find belonging through community.
We turn inward through practice.
We contribute through service.
We heal in relationship.
We lead by example.
Strong communities don’t happen accidentally. They are cultivated through vision, compassion, structure and consistent care.
Looking Forward
The quality of our collective future depends on the quality of our individual consciousness. Wisdom, discernment and compassion must lead.
I offer the lessons learned together through these communities to organizations, leaders and individuals seeking to cultivate healthier, more connected environments.
